Pacman Jones suspended!!!! Is he worth all the trouble?

Unless you've been sleeping under a rock or in a deeper sleep than Rip Van Winkle, Adam Pac Man Jones was suspended for at least four games this season and possibly more for fighting his own bodyguard. I'm sorry but that is not a typo! Jones fought with his bodyguard and was intoxicated while he did so. Already on a short leech, Pac man may have blew his 10th and last chance to play in the NFL. But what I want to know is what's so great about Adam "Pac Man" Jones? Here are his career #'s. He missed all of last year but I doubt they would be much better if he played. He is not a shut down corner by no stretch of the imagination.
Games Played 36
Total Tackles 141
Assists 117
Sacks 1
Ints 4
TD's 1
Passes Def 28
Just another distraction in Big D.

Pac Man gets 2nd chance

The Dallas Cowboys were told that Adam Pac Man Jones will be reinstated for the regular season opener. The question is will Pac Man get his act together and not be jettisoned to Bermuda.
Pac Man is one excellent talent at corner and in the special teams game and his conduct has been more than fair since his trade with the Cowboys. If Pac Man can sustain his efforts and stay out of the strip clubs there is no question that he could very well be playing in Honolulu come February.
Only time and Strip Club appearances will tell.

Yankees Are Done
After seeing The Red Sox win in a MASSACRE of a game 11-3 Boston style against their rivals and team that is chasing them for a wild card birth in the playoffs, I realized that the Yankees are finished! The Evil Empire dropped its fifth game out of the last seven played against the Sox at Yankee Stadium and looked very defeated.
The Yankees have no pitching and did not work out a deal to get a quality pitcher. The team is getting old and the only reliable players they have are either hurt or getting old. Jeter,Posada, Damon, and Mariano are the only players that can be trusted in the clutch at this point. Damon is hurting, Posada is out for the year and Jeter and Mariano can't do it by themselves. So much for that 200 million dollar kid named Rodriguez.

Kobe's Wife Sounds Off On ESPN Reporter

Laura Lane, a writer for the ESPN Magazine alleges that Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa Bryant cussed here out the night Kobe received his MVP awards. Here is an excerpt from Lane's blog of the event.
Last night, I got cussed out by Vanessa Bryant. Seriously. At the Lakers game. In front of her kids. In front of the Lakers locker room. It was awesome. She is mad about an article I wrote where I mentioned her. That means one of two things - she either reads the ESPN blog or she has herself of Google alerts. Both are fantastic.
“Laura!” she screams (yes, she apparently knows my name). “F*ck you! You f*cking b*tch!”
“Excuse me?” I say, completely baffled as I look around me to see if there is someone else named Laura. No, there’s not.
Her daughters – ages 5 and 2 – are sitting next to her on the bench looking at their mom as she screams.
“F*ck you! How dare you write about me and my daughter’s and their schedule! You didn’t say you were writing an article! F*ck you! You f*cking b*tch. You have no journalism ethics! F*ck you! You b*tch - ”
Pat Dean's special comments:
Wowwwwww(in a Flavor Flav voice). I have heard several stories about Mrs. Bryant by some peers in the media of this nature so I am very willing to believe this story. if it is true I stand to say this to Mrs. Bryant, How can you excuse someone of not having ethics when she was only doing her job. Did Ms. Lane put you in a false light? Did Ms. Lane damage your suspect image? The Answer to these questions is the same answer to has Kobe won a championship without Shaq or Phil Jackson. It should also be noted that Mrs. Bryant does not know the true meaning of ethics. As a Journalism major I can tell you that most universities make you take at least three ethic classes. How many have you taken Mrs. Bryant? It should also be noted that Mrs. Bryant has never spent one second in a college course environment and that Ms. Lane graduated from USC. And on the subject of ethics, I suggest Mrs. Bryant enroll at a local community college and take a few courses on the subject herself due to the deplorable language she used in front of her two daughters that have not even reached the age of six.

Did Kobe Cheat On His Wife Again?

I have no hard evidence and am not accusing the best basketball player on the planet of cheating on his wife, however several blogs and some in the media have reported that the gossip site The Dirty are saying that Vanessa Curry, a Laker Girl on the 2007-2008 squad had an affair with NBA MVP Kobe Bryant. The site says that they have evidence in the form of pictures of the two. Curry soon resigned as a Laker Girl and her profile on the Laker website has vanished. The Lakers "Damage Control" team claim that Curry resigned from the squad on her own so that she could pursue an acting career. All I can say is get your popcorn ready and stay tuned as this soap opera countinues.

Carmelo Anthony To The Nets??? Lebron Following After???

A report has surfaced on several websites this morning that the Nets have had discussions with the Denver Nuggets about a blockbuster deal that would bring Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Camby to New Jersey for a package that would include Richard Jefferson, Marcus Williams, Keith Van Horn's contract (which the Nets acquired in the Jason Kidd trade) and possibly one of the top picks, if the Nets have one, as well as other unnamed considerations.
In addition, there has been speculation that Jay Z, who has a minority ownership with the Nets could use his close friendship to attract Lebron James. James contract expires with the Cavs in a few seasons and if the Cavs do not find a way to appease James, it could be exit 23, Stage Brooklyn.
Jay Z Will Represent The Nets In The NBA Lottery Tonight

Hip Hop Mogul Jay Z will represent the New Jersey Nets in the NBA Lottery tonight. Perhaps, Jay Z fresh off a lucrative $150 million deal will provide the Nets with a bit of luck.
If we are to go by the odds, the Nets will be given the 10th pick of the draft. The chances for them to brush some dirt off their shoulder and be awarded the top selction of the draft is at 1.1 percent (11 OF THE 1,000 Ping Pong balls have the Nets logo on it).
If Jay Z's success can translate to the Nets getting one of the top two picks the prize would be point guard Derrick Rose of Memphis or forward Michael Beasley of Kansas State. Both players would also be a great asset to have on the chess board come draft night in the trading blocks game.
The Nets have won the lottery twice in 1990, when they picked Derrick Coleman, and in 2000, when they selected Kenyon Martin.

Led by the front runner for the Most Valuable Player award, the Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets 101-101 to complete a first round sweep. The Lakers will now advance to the second round, a position that they have not been in since 2004. Other contributions included 21 points by Pau Gasol and 14 points by Lamar Odom.

Report- Kobe Will Be Name MVP

The Lakers' players were watching the finale of the Houston-Utah first-round playoff series Friday night at a Hollywood restaurant when Bryant received an e-mail informing him he had won his first MVP. The Times reported it on its Web site Friday night, citing anonymous sources familiar with the outcome of voting by media members.
While it hasn't been made official, the honor has been expected since the completion of the regular season 2½ weeks ago, when the Bryant-led Lakers finished with a Western Conference-best 57-25 record.

Aaliyah vs. Beyonce: Who was better?

In the realm of music today, Beyonce Knowles represents the African American “it girl.” Many have wondered had Aaliyah Haughton not have been involved in a plane crash that led to her untimely death, would Knowles still be the paradigm for the culture and in fact who is better out of the two. After further investigating the two artist, the answer is that it would be Haughton.
One must remember that Knowles was around when Haughton was the representative in music as the African American “it girl.” She was the lead singer of Destiny’s Child at the time. During this duration Haughton three no.1 songs in the United States including “Are You That Somebody,” “Try Again,” and “I miss you.” Knowles, then apart of the talented group Destiny Child held six with the group. But does this make Knowles better than Haughton? Nope! Knowles had two other talented singers in Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland along with ghost writing by Missy Elliot. In addition, if Haughton and Knowles were to switch places during this era that would put Knowles up against Haughton, Williams, and Haughton and since Haughton had a softer voice than Knowles it is very possible that instead of sis no.1 hits, this trio could have at least nine during the tenure. Still not convinced? Than consider that a high number of fans have thought that Knowles was not the best singer in her group. If Haughton was in the group, would we ever debate if Williams or Rowland was better than her?
Moreover Haughton was slightly more marketable than Knowles. Don’t crucify me just yet. In American I think we can all agree that in endorsements with the exception of Oprah Winfrey and Queen Latifah slimmer has always been the trend. Haughton was slimmer and in better condition than Knowles and that is why Haughton had more movies lined up before her death than Knowles ahs been in. If we take a trip back down memory lane we should remember that the woman known as “Baby girl” had parts lined up in both Matrix sequels and Honey. Think about how much more the powerful Matrix film would have earned if she did not die and how many more people would have went to the theatres to see Honey if Haughton was alive.
Lastly, the icing on the cake is that Haughton was far more international than people think and way more popular globally than Knowles. For example, Haughton has received several awards from countries as the highest selling female artist including the country of Israel.

T Mac vs. D Wade

Whos is better out of tracy McGrady and Dwyane Wade? That was the text message war that i had with two of my closet friends just a day ago. The player is Tracy McGrady. Sure, naysayers will say that Wade has the ring and McGrady does not, however McGrady has had to play against tougher playoff teams and did not have the benefits of having an angry Shaq hungry for a championship. Although their statistics are similar, T-Mac has done it more and has been an All Star almost twice the rate as Wade. If we want to get into scoring, McGrady has won two scoring titles in his career and has averaged 32.1 points in one season before. Wade's highest is 27 almost 28 a game. So we know McGrady is a better scorer. When we talk about jump shots, we know McGrady is better. For example Wade shoots a deplorable 28% from three point land and McGrady is 34 % for his career, which means he has more range. In addition McGrady strength allows him to go to the post and score as well. Wade on the other hand has never went into the post during his NBA Career. Something else that should be noted is that McGrady average a rebound more than Wade despite playing less minutes. My favorite stat is that McGrady played in 20 more games than Wade last year, yet turned the ball over less. Wade had 216 to McGrady's 213. The story is similar this season as well. McGrady has played in more games than Wade and Wade has twice as many turnover as McGrady right now. Defensively they both are nothing special. So the edge goes to T-Mac the man who is carrying his team currently to a 19 game win streak and the man responsible for his team just being halg a game out off the No.1 seed in the Western Conference which includes the Lakers and Spurs.

Dwayne Wade is the next Penny hardaway

With the latest Dwayne Wade injury I am convinced now more than ever that Wade is heading into the direction of being the next Penny Hardaway. Sure, he has not been hurt for several seasons, however it is getting close. This is the second straight season Wade has ended his regular season campaign with a serious injury and the second straight season South Beach Florida fans are pondering if their star player is fragile. For example Wade has only played in 51 games out of the entire 82 game season each of the last two years and in three of his five seasons in the league he has played in less than 62 games a season. The statistics are extremely simlar to Penny Hardaway. After Penny's first three seasons he broke down as well and that appears to be the route for Wade. What might supise you is that Wade has missed more games than Hardaway did in his initial four seasons in the N.B.A. Do I think Wade will sink to an eight point per a game performer? No !! But I believe that just like after Penny's fifth season, that Wade's best days will be gone. Wade known as the Flash has been anything but quick this season. In fact, in his last game he played in he looked as if he was running in quick sand. Raptors guard Anthony Parker looked two steps faster than Wade and had his way with Wade forcing him to commit five turnovers.
Also guys if we take a trip down memory lane, you will remember that during Penny's tenure with the Orlando Magic he had Shaquille O'Neal. The Magic made it to the NBA Finals, and suddenly, Hardaway became a big-time star with his “Lil’ Penny” commercials. Well, Deja Vu came all over again! Shaq came to the Heat and Wade's career skyrocketed. While many have stated that Wade carried Shaq to the promise land, let's not get too crazy here! It was Shaq's dominance in the middle that got the Heat over the hump against the favored Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals and if you don't believe me look at Ben Wallace and Rasheed Wallace comments about what was the difference in that series. Without the Big Aristotle's dominating presence in the middle, Wade would have never had the success he had. He capitalized, and with it came t mobile sidekick commercials. Some people may say how could I compare the two because Wade has a ring, but lets remember Wade went against a soft Maverick team and had a veteran Shaq, whereas Penny faced a defending champion Houston Rockets team with Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon not too mention Michael Jordan the year after that. Do you think Wade would have beat the Rockets? Wade is good enough to average 20 points the rest of his career, however like Hardaway Wade has a fragile body and his explosiveness is absent. Once Shaq left Hardaway and he was asked to carry a team by himself we saw his body break down and we are seeing the same thing now with Wade without Shaq.
Before I end, something else should be established. As observers of the game we believe that Tracy McGrady is injury prone, however it should be noted that if T mac's season ended today Wade would have still missed more games than McGrady over the past two seasons.

The Parcells Bowl

Sure, Super Bowl XLII exemplifies David vs. Goliath, as the undefeated New England Patriots attempt to cease a season of perfection by conquering the 14 point underdog New York Giants. But, beyond the Tom Brady ankle injury or lack there of, the Giants defensive line’s accusations of Patriot players being bush league, or the Randy Moss alleged assault ignominy, lies a storyline that has garnered little attention. With that said let’s call Sunday’s spectacle “The Parcells Bowl.” Since both head coaches represented in the big game come from future Hall of Fame coach Bill Parcell’s coaching tree.
We have to go back some 20 years in New York where Patriots coach Bill Belichick and Giants Coach Tom Coughlin were on the Giants staff together. Belichick served as the defensive coordinator, preparing defensive schemes for a hard-hitting defense consisting of Lawrence Taylor, Carl Banks, and Harry Carson. Coughlin served as a wide receivers coach, and helped Lionel Manuel have the best season of his career. Both coaches influence on that G Men’s team helped conjure up a 10-6 Giants season and more importantly enabled them to learn from one of the gridiron’s finest coaches.
As Belichick and Coughlin became head coaches themselves, the Parcells’ philosophy remained intact in their coaching operations, however not in the way each wanted it. Initially, both coaches struggled socially with their teams and caused some uncomfortable feelings amongst players and coaches; Belichick with the Cleveland Browns and Coughlin with the expansion Jacksonville Jaguars. Despite this impediment, both men did find some success at these destinations. Belichick led the Browns to an 11-5 season in 1994 and Coughlin led the Jags to four playoff appearances including, two AFC Championship games. Eventually, both men would get a prospect at deliverance and to modify their communication skills. Belichick, now in his eighth season as the architect of the Patriots juggernaut has an assumed unproblematic possibility to win his fourth Lombardi trophy Sunday. Coughlin is in his fourth campaign with the G Men and has taken them to post season play each of the last three seasons. Both former Parcells understudies enter Sunday coaching as superlative as ever, yet only one will hoist the most coveted trophy in football at a parade downtown in the city their team represents. Perhaps, it is that man who coaches his team as analogous as possible to the way Parcells would have coached that will be victorious.

NFL Playoffs Predictions (Championship Round)
AFC:
Patriots over Chargers
I dont need to explain this game more than a paragraph. The Chargers top three offensive players all have serious injuries. Thats the quarterback Rivers, the running back and last years MVP Ladanian Tomlinson and the best tight end in football Antonio Gates. The Pats are undefeated and beat the Chargers by 24 points in their week two meeting. The Chargers will play inspired ball in this game and will keep the game close, however the injuries will hamper them and give the Pats a 10-14 point game win. Look for Quintin Jammer and Antonio Cromartie to give Brady trouble, but look for the MVP to adjust.
NFC:
Giants over Packers
Sure no one is giving the G Man a chance to win but as I said on previous blogs this team is a different animal on the road. The defensive line always applies pressure on the quarterbacks, just ask Jeff garcia and Tony Romo. The Cowboys and Bucs O line are better than the Packers o line so what does that tell you. These teams are so evenly matched, however I think the difference will in the game will be which wide out can step up the most out of Donald Driver and Plaxico Burress. I give the edge to Burress. driver is solid, however Sam Madison of the Giants is healthy again and has played Driver well in the paast. As far as the Charles Woodson and Al Harris match up on Plaxico, I give the edge to Plaxico. Three weeks ago Plaxic tourched Ahante Samuel of the Pats at only 50 %. he is about 75% now and AlHarris and Woodson struggle against big wide outs. look for Eli to take this team down for a final drive and set up a field goal game winner. Giants win by 1-3 points.

NFL Playoffs Predictions (Divisional Round)
NFC:
Giants Over Cowboys
The Cowboys dominated the Giants and beat them handily twice this season. So this should translate to a third Cowboy victory over the Giants this season, Right? Wrong!!! The Giants are a way more confident team and you had to be blind not to observe the confidence and spark in their face last week when they found out they would play the Cowboys. They are familiar with the Cowboys and are 8-1 on the road this season. Eli Manning is playing the best ball of his career and Michael Strahan is putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks reminiscent of the year they went to the Super Bowl. The Cowboys have an injured T.O. Owens has torched the Giants, however the injury he has will limit his explosiveness Ala the Super Bowl match up against the Patriots when he was an Eagle. Moreover, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has been a distraction for the team with his Mexico getaway with Jessica Simpson. I personally have no problem with it , but the media is ripped him for it and therefore its a distraction. I think the Giants D steps up big and stops the running game which forces Romo to beat them. He can but if the Cowboys are coming from behind he will force balls to an injured T.O. Giants win this one by a touchdown.
Packers over Seahawks
Perhaps the most difficult game of the round to choose. I've switched the winner everyday of this week. Bret Favre and the Green Bay Packers have been excellent at home this season and the Pack has a solid defense. The problem for the Packers are that they are a young team. The Seahawks struggled last week with a victory over the Redskins and did not run the ball particularly well. The Seahawks have struggled with their ground game the entire season and have played deplorable on the road this season. The extinct Seahawk running game will force Hasselbeck to throw and force balls that will be interceptions. Packers win by ten.
AFC:
Colts over Chargers
The Defending World Champions are healthy!!!! Future Hall of Fame receiver, Marvin Harrison is back!!!! The Colts have been disrespected all season despite not having a Super Bowl hang over and going 13-3. So the Chargers beat the Colts this season. It was a game in which Peyton Manning threw six picks, and the Colts allowed to returns by Darren Sproles for a TD. With all that said the Colts still had a chance to win the game at the end with a chip shot by Adam Vinatari who surprisingly missed it. Manning wont have six picks this game and the Colts will have Harrison in this game. The colts will put nine in the box as they did the last game to stop Ladanian Tomlinson and will force Philip Rivers to beat them without his number one target Antonio Gates who will not play. That means pressure on Rivers and mistakes by Rivers. Colts win by at least two touchdowns.
Patriots Over Jaguars
The Jaguars have a solid defense, however has a suspect pass defense. They did give up over 300 yards plus last week to Big Ben and Tom Brady is a better qb than Big Ben. Yes, the Jags are physical and can hit the Patriots receivers and bang up up Brady but can they score 31 points. That's what its going to take to beat the undefeated Pats. It comes downs to whether David Garrard can play mistake free football which he has not done the last few games and put touchdowns on the board not field goals. The Pats know they have to contain the two headed monster of Fred Taylor and Maurice Drew, so that will make them try to get up early in this game so the Jags can play from behind and ultimately would limit their running in which the Patriots can not stop for four quarters if the game stays close. Expect to see Brady throw the deep ball early to moss and Stallworth and get up early which will force the Jags to abort the run. Patriots win by two touchdowns.

Redskins Coach Joe Gibbs Retires Again

In perhaps a season that was the most arduous and with circumstances on a team that the majority of coaches would have failed, Hall of Fame Coach Joe Gibbs demonstrated to not only the old generation that was familiar with him, but a new generation why the entire sports universe respects him. Perhaps the season ended up draining the 67 year old legend as he retired from the Washington Redskins organization this afternoon.
Gibbs had a phone conversation last until 2:30 in the morning with owner Daniel Snyder who attempted to persuade Gibbs to come back, yet Gibbs sited spending more time with his family and grandchildren.
Having dealt with the tragic murder of Pro bowl safety , Sean Taylor and rallying his guys to win four straight games to make the playoffs put a greater perspective on family and made him realize how short and precious life is.
Nevertheless in four season he did guide the Redskins to two post season births and even a post season victory. Prior to his second stint with the Skins the franchise had struggled with a plethora of coaches including Norv turner and Steve Spurrier. Gibbs will forever be missed by the Redskins organization and will always be known as one of the gridiron's greatest coaches. Why? Three Super Bowls with three different quarterbacks, including the only African American qb to win a Super Bowl in Doug Williams. Gibbs success this year in a now in circumstance can only reassure fans that the game did not pass him by, but that he passed the game by.

NFL Playoffs Predictions (Wild Card Round)
Wild Card Match ups
AFC:
Chargers over Titans
-We don't have to look too far back of when the Titans and Chargers played. In fact week 14's match up between the two teams the game ended in a hard fought battle in overtime with a 23-17 Super Charger victory. The game did provide fans with some controversy as Chargers pro bowl linebacker Shawn Merriman blasted Titans stud quarterback Vince Young and alleged that Titans Coach Jeff Fisher put a bounty on his head or should I say legs. The game was a very defensive game in the first half as the Titans lead 3-0 at half time. That's when L.T. carried the Chargers in the second half and overtime and compiled nearly 150 yards and the game winning overtime touchdown. That game was in Tennessee and in that game Lendale White ran for 130 yards. Guess what? Those two x factors wont be in the wild card game. White is out and the game is in San Diego where the Chargers are very tough to overthrow there. In addition, Titans quarterback Vince Young is banged up bad with a quad injury and is a game time decision. The Chargers are playing their most efficient ball of the year and this sums up to a Charger victory easily. Expect Young to play, but be ineffective because of the injury which translates to a sufficient chance of seeing backup Kerry Collins. Chargers win in something like a 38-14 route.
Jaguars over Steelers
Another rematch of the regular season. Expect an old fashion gridiron bang em up and hit em game. The conditions in Pittsburgh and Heinz Field are suppose to be nasty. Wiat, doesn't this feel like deja vu all over again? Yes it does, same conditions as per say week 15's match up between the two clubs. Well in week 15 The Jags looked like Michael Johnson. Yeah I said Michael Johnson because they ran all over the Steeler defense. Jaguar backs Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones Drew combined for 224 rushing yards, mommy wow, the Jags are some world beaters now!!!! At that time the Steelers were 7-0 at home. Same setting minus Steelers pro bowl running back Willie Parker. Parker has 100 yards in that game but he wont be playing this weekend. Possibly out his All Pro safety Troy Polamalu. And even if he plays he will be about 60 percent. While I do not believe the Jags will run for 200 plus yards on the Steelers this time around I expect Parker's absence to be the reason why the Jags win in a close, old fashioned football game 17-13.
NFC:
Seahawks over Redskins
Perhaps the most difficult game to pick. Yes, the Redskins are the second hottest team in the NFL behind the 16-0 Patriots and yes Joe Gibbs and his ball club have united since the funeral of Safety Sean Taylor. And yes I know that Gibbs won three super bowls with three different quarterbacks. But Todd Collins has not faced a defense like the Seattle Seahawks and have not endured a hostile environment like Qwest field in Seattle. The Seahawks defensive features four pro bowlers and are led by Patrick Kerney who will put a great amount of pressure on Collins due to an above average Redskin offensive line. The biggest thing going for the former NFC Champs is that they played in the Super Bowl two years ago and they know how to win in the playoffs. Look for the Seahawks to win 28-14. They will force Todd Collins to beat them by placing eight men in the box to impede the production of Redskin back Clinton Portis.
Giants over Bucs
Eli Manning is not a winner! Eli Manning throws too many interceptions, he can't win the big ones. Didn't big brother Peyton endure this as well when he lost his initial three playoff games. Well Eli is no Peyton but the Giants have an abundance of momentum going for them after nearly stopping the Patriots from going undefeated in the regular season. The Bucs have rested their starters for three weeks so at least in the first half of the game the Buccs will not have a rhythm. Whats even worst is that the Bucs are not exactly an explosive offense. Hell, I don't think they can even be an explosive offense on xbox 360 or Playstation 3 football games. Both defenses are very good and the Giants offense is way superior and now have a healthy Plaxico Burress. That spells trouble for Ronde Barber who essentially said Plaxico is no Randy Moss. Moreover, the Bucs defensive line is small and can be ran on by a big, powerful back like Brandon Jacobs. Giants win 24-13 in this one.
